Team Activity - Spirited Role Clarification

We are a team. This is what they say ... but what does it really mean? For many, it means that are part of a group of people ... period.

Although some team members could say that the team was formed to a "purpose", the goal might actually mean different things for each individual. Some teams are formed to create a business with everyone paying their area of expertise. And, who knows, they could effectively work together to accomplish this task. Let's face it, teams rarely run smoothly and with great success.

One activity that I found very useful is the clarification of the role Spirited Thiagi. This activity takes about 45 minutes. Here's what you need: flip chart, tape and colored markers - black, green, red and blue for each team member. Yes, at this point it is assumed that individuals in the group are now members of the team. So ...

Give each team member a piece of chart paper, two pieces of tape, and four colored markers - black, green, red and blue ..

With black marker, have team members write their names on top of their paper flip chart. Then have each of them to list all of their roles and responsibilities of the team. Wait a few minutes.

Now, are the team members underline, with the green marker, the roles and responsibilities that provide them with their greatest passion and spirit. Leave a minute.

Later, team members have emphasized, with the red marker, the roles and responsibilities that would go to someone else. Leave a minute.

Finally, they stressed the team members, with the blue marker, the roles and responsibilities with which they would appreciate assistance and / or training to help accomplish the task. Allow another minute.

Hang the cards to flip the room. Ask the team member to circulate around the room, quietly reading the roles and responsibilities of each flip chart. Ask them to take notes directly on flipcharts - adding constructive comments, raising questions, and adding ideas and suggestions. Wait about 20 minutes, depending on the number of team members.

Once team members have finished reading and making comments on flip charts, discuss each of the roles and responsibilities and the comments that were received. This should take about 20 minutes, depending on the number of team members and the amount of comments.

Because I love this business? Because it allows team members the opportunity to obtain not only some good ideas and help with their roles and responsibilities, but also provides an opportunity for other team members to better understand the roles of others, passions and drudgeries. And, finally, allows you to align your work with the team .......
